Tito Gómez, the rising young, dynamic orchestra leader was born in Puerto Rico in 1958
and raised in New York. Son of Pedro Gómez, a musician, and mother Adelaida Gómez,
who is presently in the music publishing business, Tito fell in love with percussion in-
struments when he was only four years old. He remained faithful to them and today, after
years of devotion and a relentless drive for perfection, he has proven himself to be one of the
most outstanding drummers, all around musician, and band leader.
Growing up in the New York musical enviroment, the was exposed to such Latin and American
greats as Tito Puente, Buddy Rich, The Templations, Perez Prado, Machito, Palmieri
Miranda, Cugat, Krupa, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Harlow, Fajarde Yo Su Estrellas, La
Sensasio And Pupi Lagaret to mention a few.
He studied at the Third Street Music School, The Bays Harbor Music School, and with top
private teachers.
After finishing his formal musical education, he worked as an independent producer and fur-
ther studied modern recording techniques at the Audio Technology Institute.
With his brother Peter he formed a Latin band and played the Salsa circuit in the United
States and Puerto Rico. He has also spent many years in the recording studios playing with
some of the great musicians he admired as a young drummer.
His recent appearances include The Red Parrot Disco Spot. Senzale Discoteque,
Latin Quartet, etc. The New York Daily News praised him for his recent concert for the
elderly. Tito Gómez is currently going to Washington D. C. to perform at the Latin "in place",
Pristines. His fans are loyal and follow him where ever his band plays.
Tito's varied exposures and contacts with all aspects of Latin music has made him a master
musician. His experiences have enabled him to come up with his first exciting, dynamic and
powerful Salsa album, entitled 'Todo Queremos Más' for the eagerly expectant Latin and
American audiences. He has great cross-over potential.
